Your Local Real Estate Guys formed when Paul Makarenko and Adam Clermont joined their businesses to better serve their clients. The idea was to ensure that each one of their clients was always serviced as they deserved. In a market that was continuously getting busier, people needed to act faster with their decisions and realtors shouldn’t be the ones getting in the way of them buying their dream properties. As such, Paul and Adam made a pact to be able to help each others’ clients whenever possible. This way, if a client needed to see a property quickly (so that it didn’t sell from under them) either one of the guys could get them through the property.
The unique business relationship with Paul and Rick Nishizaki began back in 2010. With a matching ethos to what is now ‘Your Local Real Estate Guys’, it was the joining of traditional relationships with a modern approach to real estate that led to the growth in this partnership that has excelled over the years.
Fast forward another few years and YLREG continuously grew (and keeps growing). In 2020, Shenelle, the team’s Client Care Manager and the Chief-of-Awesome, joined the team as their full-time administrator.

Paul moved to Hamilton in 2005 after moving across the country in his younger years. Once planted in the Hamilton/Burlington area, Paul knew that he’d be in the area for a long time! Inheriting his entrepreneurial skills from his paternal grandparents, jumping into real estate feet first following the economic downturn of 2008 didn’t need a second thought. In over a decade, Paul hasn’t looked back.
Priding himself on truly helping his clients, Paul frequently works with everyone from first time home buyers to downsizing seniors – and everybody in between. From leasing to purchasing, residential to commercial, Paul covers it all. Together with his strong team behind him, Paul and the ‘Your Local Real Estate Guys’ team can tackle any real estate project big or small. In 2017, Paul was inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
Paul’s love of the area stems from its proximity to, in his eyes, everything! Quick access to most major highways taking you anywhere you need to go in Golden Horseshoe area, the US border and beyond, close to the lake for recreational activities (and pleasant walks along the water), close to Pearson International airport and, most importantly, given the size of the city it seems that it doesn’t take longer than 20 minutes to go wherever you need to go.
Adam is a 5th generation Hamiltonian. After completing a Marketing program at Mohawk College, Adam started with RE/MAX in 2008 at the early age of 21. Adam used his deep Hamilton roots to quickly build a successful real estate career.
Being a true believer in real estate investment Adam has owned property across the city from both freehold and condo, single and multi-family residential property, to commercial mixed-used and even a restaurant. Being a hands-on personality Adam has experience with all types of construction both residential and commercial. In 2017 Adam was inducted into the Re/max Hall of Fame.
As a husband and father of two young children Adam is used to multi-tasking and you can expect him to almost always answer a phone call. He can always be counted on for an honest, no-nonsense approach and know that you will always have your best interest made the top priority, at all times.
Wayne was born, raised, and still resides in the “Creek”. Brock University- Business Administration by day, Mohawk College- Real Estate course by night. With over 30 years in the business, Wayne has learned the best from traditional agents and surrounds himself with the best of modern styles in the industry.
Being an investor, he has experienced the art of being a landlord, being involved in land assembly, land development, commercial and industrial property sales, and leasing. He is proud to have represented many clients as they navigate Estate property sales, Power of Sale Properties, and Private Lending Investors.
Over the years, with the help of so many colleagues, Wayne has amassed tremendous knowledge of most Real Estate scenarios. Being happy to help with every facet of the transaction is what he loves to do. Working with first-timers to the old-timers, every client is something special and very much appreciated.
Wayne received Re/Max Hall of Fame status in 2004 and in 2016 he received the Re/Max Lifetime Achievement Award.

Shenelle started with Your Local Real Estate Guys in February of 2020. Shenelle has an extensive background in administration, client care, graphic design and social media marketing. She has always loved creating new systems to stay organized and be on top of the day to day tasks.
In 2016, Shenelle started a creative business called DIY Workshops which allows her to get creative but also use her social skills to connect with her clients.
In her free time, she loves to find old things to repurpose, be around friends and family and check out new restaurants.
As a business owner herself, she prides herself on working hard and producing the best results possible. Shenelle loves being apart of Your Local Real Estate Guys team.
Rick followed in the footsteps of his 2 brothers and graduated from the University of British Columbia in Metallurgical Engineering. He then relocated from British Columbia to Hamilton to work in the Steel Industry. After a number of years working as a Professional Engineer, Rick left the industry to pursue his interests in real estate sales.
With over 30+ years of experience, Rick has worked in both Residential and Commercial Real Estate serving Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and surrounding areas. Rick deals in all aspects of real estate, which includes: selling, buying, and leasing of residential, investment, commercial, industrial, farm and vacant land properties.
Rick was inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame in 2001.
As a full-time working mother of 2 children who played competitive soccer across the Golden Horseshoe, Natalia understands what it means to juggle schedules, multitask and get things done. Her strong work ethic, listening, questioning skills (her kids call her “20 questions”), and love for research provide her with the skills necessary to help match the needs of her client to an ideal home. Working with people is a passion of hers which you’ll get a sense of through her approachability and warm personality.
Natalia has 20 years of customer service experience which helps her excel when it comes to communication. She works efficiently and always for the benefit of her clients. She is always striving for excellence while leveraging the vast network of team resources available, in order to support her clients with a seamless and smooth transition into a new home.
